The Taru region has been facing a devastating, years-long famine and drought, leaving many schools without enough food to stay open. For students preparing for their national exams—the milestone that determines whether they can continue on to university—daily meals can mean the difference between staying in school and having their education cut short.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we not only met our $10,000 goal for the Emergency Food Fund, we surpassed it. Together, donors contributed $14,000 to provide urgent hunger relief for secondary students across the region.

Because of this collective effort, schools have been able to remain open and students have received the life-sustaining meals they need to continue their studies. Your support has ensured that hunger did not stand in the way of their education.
